Michigan to Iowa (1994) : Married (1998) : BA English (1999) : BFA Art and Adopted a Greyhound (2004)
Hello, my name is David Miessler-Kubanek. I'm
originally from Michigan, having moved to Iowa in 1994. I
graduated from The University
of Iowa in 2004 with a BFA in Art (graphic
design) and in 1999 with a BA in English.
I was Executive Director for The Coaster Project, a James Gang endeavor. It officially launched this summer thanks much in part to Zach Hoyt's considerate efforts.
I'm a Freelance Graphic Designer who's been known to volunteer in the area: The 10,000 Hours Show (10K3 tickets, t-shirts, and annual report); and Dreamwell Theatre (posters).
I am currently a full-time news artist at The Gazette, a news company in Cedar Rapids. In the past I have also been employed both in and outside of my chosen profession, as well as a Macbride Raptor Project voluteer owl feeder and an Olympic-style fencer (preferring the foil weapon).
I have been honored for my contribution in the Global I.D. Card (Magazine/Online) Contest as First runner up, and was a recipient of the Len Everett Art Scholarship.
